In mid-March the Danish National ID Centre undertook a fact finding mission in Pakistan. The main focus was to gather information on the registration routines related to personal data, issuance procedures related to ID documents and civil status documents, related breeder documents, legalisation procedure at the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the general level of corruption in the public administration.

With assistance from the Royal Danish Embassy in Islamabad, a number of meetings were arranged with Pakistani authorities from both federal and local level, including three meetings with representatives from the local administrative level, the Union Council. A number of diplomatic sources were likewise consulted.

On this background the Danish National ID Centre has published six notes, which are all available at nidc.dk/en/Analyses-and-trends.
